We are now searching for ambitious Colombia travel sales specialists to join our establishedand globally recognized travel company. Creating truly tailor-made itineraries andpersonalising them to fit within each individual client’s needs. With attention for detail anddistinctive high level of customer service skills your goal is to ensure all clients returninghome have had a trip which exceeds their expectations, motivating them to return as a clientagain. Essential requirements: You should have a very good level of written and spokenEnglish as our client’s markets are largely from Europe and the US. Experience in the travelindustry would be an advantage. The skills we have found make a successful SalesSpecialist are people who have strong organisation skills, a competitive drive, resilience,assertiveness and persuasiveness. Basic Salary $ 2.062.000 + Comissión 3%. (Monthly Averague $400.000) + Medical Plan EMI + Bonuses
The person in this position would be responsible for:
1. Consulting and Advising:
- Interviewing foreign clients in English to understand their needs,
preferences and budget.
- Provide recommendations on destinations, accommodations, activities and
transportation options based on the client's interests.
Provide information on tourist destinations, travel regulations, required
vaccinations and other important details.
2. Itinerary Planning
- Design detailed itineraries that include all activities, reservations and
schedules.
- Optimize travel routes to maximize the customer experience and minimize costs and travel times.
-Coordinate special activities and events, such as guided tours, themed
dinners, and cultural experiences.
3. Reservations and Logistics
- Manage reservations for flights, transportation, accommodations and restaurants.
- Negotiate rates and agreements with service providers such as airlines, hotels and tour operators.
- Ensure the availability of all necessary services during the trip.
4. Financial Management
-Budget travel and provide detailed cost estimates.
-Monitor and control expenses to stay within the agreed budget.
-Manage payments for contracted services.
5. Documentation and Formalities
-Ensure that all necessary documents such as passports, dietary restrictions and medical conditions are obtained.
-Maintain detailed records of reservations, itineraries and financial transactions.
6. Customer Service
- Provide customer support before, during and after the trip.
-Respond to inquiries and resolve problems that may arise, such as last-minute itinerary changes or emergencies.
-Conduct post-trip follow-ups to collect customer comments and suggestions.
9. Regulatory Compliance
-Ensure compliance with local and international travel and tourism regulations.
-Keep informed of legal and regulatory changes that may affect travel.
10. Technology and Tools
- Use specialized travel planning and management software.
To be an effective Travel Planner, it is crucial to possess a combination of technical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Here is a detailed list of essential skills:

- Technology Proficiency: Use of booking software, travel management systems, planning tools and mobile applications.
- Online Research: Ability to research and compare travel options, fares and services online.

- Selling Skills: Convincing customers to choose certain services and destinations.
- Negotiation: Obtain the best rates and conditions from suppliers.
- Results Orientation: Working to achieve sales objectives and goals.
5. Market Knowledge.
- Destination Knowledge: Extensive knowledge about different destinations, cultures, attractions and activities.
- Tourism Trends: Keep updated on the latest trends in the travel and tourism industry.
- Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements and security regulations.
6. Attention to Detail
- Accuracy: Ensure that all reservations and travel details are correct and accurate.
- Follow-up: Review and confirm all aspects of the itinerary prior to travel.

- Crisis Management: Handle emergencies and last minute changes in a calm and efficient manner.
- Problem Solving: Quickly finding alternative solutions when inconveniences arise.

- Empathy: Understand and address customer concerns and needs.

- Public Relations: Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers.
