Job Description:
As a Copy Editor and Proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing and refining written content to ensure it is error-free, grammatically correct, and consistent with our brands voice. Youll work on a variety of content types, ensuring that every piece of content meets our high editorial standards. You will be an integral part of our editorial team, working closely with writers and other stakeholders to deliver polished, clear, and engaging content.
Responsibilities:
Edit and Proofread: Review and edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and style consistency.
Ensure Accuracy: Ensure that all content adheres to established guidelines, factual accuracy, and proper language use.
Maintain Voice and Tone: Ensure the content aligns with the brands voice and tone while enhancing readability and flow.
Content Review: Edit content for clarity, conciseness, and overall effectiveness, improving readability without altering the original meaning.
Collaborate with Writers: Work closely with writers to provide constructive feedback and guidance on content improvements.
Quality Assurance: Proofread final drafts of content before publication, checking for typographical errors, formatting inconsistencies, and other issues that may have been overlooked.
Manage Deadlines: Ensure timely completion of all editing and proofreading tasks, maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Advanced English Proficiency (C1 or higher) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience as a Copy Editor and Proofreader
Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style guides
Experience editing and proofreading content for a variety of formats
Ability to maintain consistency and adhere to brand guidelines across all content.
Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to reviewing content.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of editing tools such as Grammarly, ProWritingAid, or other content management systems is a plus.
A degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
