Location: Colombia - Remote Language: Advance English Schedule: Monday to Friday / 8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST Time Zone Holidays: Colombian Holidays Off Contract: Colombian employment contract / Fixed Term One-Year Salary: $11.000.000 COP Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Lead to oversee and manage all accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and statutory obligations related to two active contracts awarded to a Joint Venture (JV) group. This role will act as the in-country financial lead and primary point of contact for all Colombian accounting and tax matters associated with these contracts. Strong professional English communication skills are required, as the role involves regular reporting and coordination with international JV partners and stakeholders. Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Management: Establish and maintain accounting systems for the two awarded contracts in compliance with Colombian GAAP (NIIF) and applicable regulatory standards. Manage full-cycle accounting, including: Accounts payable and accounts receivable General ledger maintenance Bank reconciliations Expense tracking and project-based cost allocation Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with contract terms. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for JV partners. Maintain audit-ready financial documentation. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings Ensure full compliance with Colombian tax regulations, including: Corporate income tax (as applicable to joint ventures) VAT (IVA) Withholding taxes Municipal and industry taxes (ICA and others) Prepare and submit all required tax filings accurately and on time. Serve as the primary liaison with DIAN and other relevant tax authorities. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and advise JV stakeholders on tax implications. Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as required. Joint Venture Financial Administration Manage revenue and cost allocations in accordance with JV agreements. Prepare detailed financial reports for JV stakeholders in both Spanish and English. Participate in virtual meetings with international stakeholders. Support cash flow forecasting and funding coordination among JV partners. Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements under the awarded contracts. Support internal and external audits. Compliance & Internal Controls Implement and maintain appropriate internal controls. Ensure compliance with contractual financial provisions. Support anti-corruption and compliance reporting obligations as required. Maintain organized digital recordkeeping systems suitable for remote operations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) Colombian-licensed Public Accountant (required) Tax specialization (preferred) Minimum of 57 years of accounting experience in Colombia Strong experience in Colombian tax compliance Experience with project-based accounting and cost tracking Experience supporting joint ventures or international organizations (preferred) Strong knowledge of Colombian NIIF and tax legislation Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Siigo, World Office, or similar platforms) Advanced Excel skills Fluent Spanish and professional-level English (written and verbal) required Ability to prepare financial reports and communicate effectively in both Spanish and English
