Position Summary:
IGE is seeking an organized, analytical, and detail-driven Project Estimator & Purchasing Specialist to join our Estimating Department. This role bridges Sales, Design, and Production by accurately forecasting project costs, sourcing materials, and ensuring all scope and cost data is thoroughly reviewed and properly entered into internal systems (including VOZ and Google Sheets).
A successful candidate will have experience in estimating, cost analysis, CAD interpretation, and material take-offs. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with remote and onsite teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Estimating
- Analyze incoming projects during the Sales Briefing stage to determine labor and material costs.
- Perform detailed material take-offs using shop drawings, AutoCAD, SketchUp files, or renderings.
- Create basic CAD mockups when necessary to clarify measurements or geometry.
- Calculate exhibit element costs, including material quantities, outsourced services, labor/man-hours, and specialty fabrication requirements.
- Prepare written cost proposals and review for accuracy before submission.

Data & Documentation:
- Build cost calculations in Google Sheets prior to entering final estimates into internal software (VOZ).
- Review and update job details in VOZ, ensuring deadlines, scope, images, and descriptions are complete and accurate.
- Conduct comparative analysis against historical projects to ensure estimates are aligned and competitive.
- Produce weekly reporting summarizing completed tasks and project progress.

Purchasing & Vendor Coordination:
-Request, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotes based on project needs.
- Research new materials, components, and fabrication options to optimize project value.
- Assist with procurement and purchasing tasks following project award.
- Maintain ongoing communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Collaboration:
- Communicate closely with Account Managers, Account Executives, Design leads, and Finance.
- Clarify scope questions, provide cost insight, and coordinate project expectations.
- Support other departments by supplying accurate cost data that informs design development, client proposals, and production planning.
- Process Support & Improvement
- Contribute suggestions for improving estimating workflows, templates, and documentation.
- Strengthen organizational knowledge by sharing material research, supplier insights, and best practices.

Skills & Qualifications:
Required
- Fluent English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating within trade show fabrication, construction, retail buildouts, interior design, furniture fabrication, or similar industries.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong skills in Google Sheets or Excel (advanced formulas, tab organization, data accuracy).
- Proven experience performing material take-offs from CAD files.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with remote and onsite teams.
- High attention to detail with personal quality control practices.
- Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple active estimating tasks.

Preferred:
- Experience with project management/estimating platforms.
- Experience in vendor relations and purchasing workflows.
- Background in exhibit fabrication or custom-built environments.

- Deliver accurate, thorough project estimates within required timelines.
- Improve internal estimating consistency and documentation quality.
- Enhance vendor relationships and optimize material sourcing.
- Contribute to the overall financial success and operational efficiency of the Estimating Department.
