Position Overview:
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with 5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong DevOps/infrastructure background with a specialized focus on monitoring and observability. The role involves enhancing system reliability, optimizing performance, and driving measurable improvements in service quality through advanced tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Observability:
Implement, configure, and maintain monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Develop and refine SLIs (Service Level Indicators), SLOs (Service Level Objectives), and associated dashboards to provide actionable insights.
Continuously improve alerting systems to ensure fast incident response and minimal downtime.
Site Reliability Enhancements:
Analyze system performance and reliability issues across Kubernetes clusters, GCP environments, and GitHub workflows.
Identify, recommend, and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance site reliability and scalability.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure best practices are followed in deployment and operational workflows.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
Respond to system incidents, diagnose root causes, and implement long-term solutions to recurring problems.
Perform post-incident reviews and recommend enhancements to prevent future issues.
DevOps Practices:
Work closely with DevOps teams to design and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
Support infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or similar technologies.
Manage and optimize deployments in Kubernetes and GCP.
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Partner with engineering teams to design systems that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on monitoring, observability, and reliability best practices.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or related role.
Monitoring & Observability Tools: Proficiency in DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic.
DevOps Expertise: Experience with Kubernetes, GCP, and GitHub for deployments and source control.
Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
Proven track record of implementing SLI/SLO measurements and creating observability dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with logging and alerting tools such as ELK Stack or Splunk.
Familiarity with container orchestration platforms and best practices for scaling Kubernetes environments.
Knowledge of GCP-specific monitoring tools and services.
